Economic Development

The Rural Municipality of Prince Albert No. 461 is one of the top 5 largest municipalities in the province of Saskatchewan and the 3rd largest in population. The RM is located south of the Saskatchewan River and surrounds the City of Prince Albert. The RM seeks to foster a community that is engaged, supportive and self-sustainable; one that offers a unique mix of businesses that are supported by the community, providing resident's access to products and services they need.

We are working towards rural economic growth, reflecting on innovation, diversification, and sustainable, long-term economic development. Our goal is to help grow the local economy by providing programs and services in the areas of business attraction, retention and expansion; entrepreneurship support and regional planning.

  Tax Incentive Program

One of our new initiatives is the Tax Incentive Policy which came into effect on September 12, 2024. This incentive is geared towards encouraging new residential and commercial/industrial builds with up to 3 years in tax concessions. To learn more, check out our Tax Incentive Program Page.

The RM is striving for a vision that our rural community is resilient, innovative and prosperous, providing sustainable economic opportunities for individuals, families, businesses and visitors.
