Letter from the Reeve

September 18th, 2024

Council Members, Administration, and the Ratepayers and Residents of the RM of Prince Albert,

I am writing to formally announce that I will be taking a leave of absence from my position as Reeve of the RM of Prince Albert, for the remainder of my elected term. This decision comes as I have chosen to run as a candidate in the upcoming provincial election. The majority of my duties as Reeve going forward will fall to division four Councillor and Deputy Reeve, Richard Wilson.

Over the past years, we have seen significant growth in our Rural Municipality. Together, we have worked hard to build a strong, thriving community that reflects the values and aspirations of our residents. I am immensely proud of the progress we have made, from improved infrastructure to the various initiatives that have supported our local economy and endeavouring to enhance the quality of life for all.

I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the Council members and the Administration for their unwavering dedication and support during my tenure as Reeve. Your commitment has been instrumental in achieving the successes we have experienced. I also wish to express my deepest gratitude to the people of our community for the trust you have placed in me. It has been an honor to serve you.

As I embark on this new journey, I am confident that the RM of Prince Albert will continue to prosper. I look forward to the possibility of serving our region at a different level and remain committed to the values that have guided us here.

Thank you once again for your support and understanding.

Sincerely,

Eric Schmalz
Reeve, RM of Prince Albert
