Minister’s Order Pursuant to section 35 of The Highways and Transportation Act, 1997,
The Vehicle Weight and Dimension Regulations, 2010, permit heavier weights on public highways during the Winter Weight Season.
The Winter Weight Season is defined in s. 2 (ggg) of the regulations as commencing on November 16 of each year and ending on March 14 of the following year.
Section 2(2) of the regulations states that if the Minister considers it necessary to protect a public highway, the Minister may issue an order under section 35 of the Act, the Winter Weight Season for the highways mentioned in the order for the period specified in the order.
Pursuant to section 35 of “The Highways and Transportation Act, 1997” it is hereby ordered this Winter Weight Order is effective at 12:01 am Monday January 23, 2023.
